Venice Balconies

This project was inspired by my trip to Venice Italy. I was very taken on the structure of the balconies and the textures of the walls of buildings. I used the method of reverse appliquè cutting away from layers to expose another texture, much like what i'd seen in Venice. I left the edges raw intentionally as it gives the worn look like most of the buildings have. When it came to styling i found the colours in my garment were very 70s. I looked into movies of the 70s set in Venice and came across 'Don't Look Now' a thriller directed by Nicolas Roeg. I took inspiration from the hair and vibe of the movie to put together the final touches of my garment.
