Modesty
SHOWSTOPPER was designed taking inspiration from a 1920's cape that had originally been a skirt in the 1910's. The cape had been stored in the Te Papa Museum archives and we were asked to create a modern take on said garment. I wanted to push the boundaries with modesty as it was pushed in the 1920's. Baring skin with a fitted bodice allows viewers to see the natural shape of the body whilst adding a modern flare.
